A Pita Miuda 2017 is one of the remarkable white wines crafted by Pilar Higuero at Lagar de Sabariz, an impressive 16th-century manor house in Ourense.
It is made exclusively from treixadura grapes grown in biodynamic vineyards owned by the estate. The wine underwent an extended ageing of two years in stainless steel tanks with its fine lees.
This original white is complex, offering abundant ripe stone fruit and notes of infused herbs over a subtly smoky background. On the palate, it combines a rich texture with a delightful citrusy and saline freshness.
Production is limited to just 2,500 bottles.
