Anna Espelt Cap de Creus Cala Rostella 2018

Cap de Creus Cala Rostella 2018
comes from the highest terraces with recovered dry stone walls that look towards the sea. The Lledoner Negre (Garnacha) variety with which it was made was harvested on September 27th and was selected in the vineyard and in the winery. It fermented with spontaneous yeasts and with a good part of whole grape. The hat was gently dipped with your hands once a day. When it was bled and pressed, there were still some whole bunches. The malolactic and ageing was carried out in old 500 L barrels where it remained for 7 months. It was bottled without filtering or clarifying.

TASTING NOTES (Published in El Club August 2020)
Cap de Creus Cala Rostella 2018 has a beautiful medium intensity scarlet colour, very limpid and bright. On the nose it is seductive and delicate with intense notes of berry fruits reminiscent of currants, cherries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries with an intense background of a multitude of Mediterranean forest aromatic herbs such as rosemary, thyme and dried laurel. On the palate it has a fresh and balanced entry, with a texture of highly polished tannins that give structure and body to the whole and that, accompanied by good freshness, make it pleasant and very harmonious. Long, intense and deep with hints of black fruits such as plum, fresh tobacco, chocolate and cloves at the end of the palate. A red suitable to drink slightly cold, between 15 and 17ºC, accompanying sausages, mountain rice, grilled poultry and all kinds of sheep or goat cheeses. To be enjoyed from now on and for the next 5 years, served in a Chianti glass from the Vinum de Riedel series (6416/15) or in a Cabernet / Merlot glass from the Vinum de Riedel series (6416/0).
