La Faraona 2021 is the flagship wine of Ricardo P. Palacios, made alongside his uncle Álvaro Palacios, in El Bierzo. It originates from an extraordinary vineyard of just over half a hectare in the El Ferro site, where steep slate slopes reach 860 metres. Planted over 70 years ago, it is now recognised as a Gran Viña Clasificada.
In this challenging and very scarce vintage, it was produced exclusively from mencía. After a rigorous selection process, only two barrels were bottled, yielding 647 bottles – plus some larger formats – of a red wine of exceptional finesse.
