Dewar's 21 Years (Estuche)
Dewar's 21 Years is one of the most refined expressions from John Dewar & Sons, crafted under the guidance of master blender Stephanie Macleod.
This blended Scotch whisky benefits from the exclusive Double Double process, in which malt and grain whiskies, aged separately, are blended and matured independently, then rested to integrate, followed by assembly and a second resting period together before finishing maturation in oloroso sherry casks.
This four-stage method aims to achieve maximum harmony and aromatic depth. The blend is composed of carefully selected malt and grain whiskies, each with a minimum age of 21 years.
The finish in oloroso sherry barrels imparts distinctive notes, enhancing the complexity and character of the blend.
Bottled at 46% ABV and presented in a half-bottle format, it offers a sensory experience marked by notes of dried fruits, caramel, gentle spices, and a backdrop of fine wood.
On the palate, the entry is silky and enveloping, with precise integration of the alcohol and a development that balances sweetness, fruitiness, and a subtle final bitterness.
The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, with echoes of walnut and chocolate. Due to its structure and concentration, it is recommended to enjoy it neat or with a few drops of water in a tulip glass at room temperature.
It can also add depth and nuance to classic cocktails such as the Rob Roy or Old Fashioned, where its aromatic profile and creamy texture are clearly expressed.
