The new 2025 vintage of El Perro Verde has arrived, one of the most sought-after Verdejos from Rueda, made exclusively from organic grapes.

The Verdejo vineyards, aged between 15 and 20 years, come from the municipalities of Rapariegos, Nieva, San Cristóbal de la Vega, La Seca, Torrecilla de la Abadesa, and Villaverde de Medina, characterized by soils rich in pebbles, limestone, and rounded stones.

Harvesting took place between September 7 and October 2. This vintage was produced for the first time in our new winery located in the village of Rueda.

El Perro Verde 2025 is a fragrant, clear, and precise Verdejo, with aromas of white pear, stone fruits such as peach and loquat, and tropical notes including pineapple, lychee, and passion fruit.

On the palate, it is refined and fresh, with a silky texture and a long finish. It pairs perfectly with appetizers, seafood, sushi, rice dishes, and a wide variety of meals. One of the best vintages in its 20-year history.

Winery El perro verde

El perro verde was born almost 20 vintages ago by Uvas Felices. An white wine, 100% Verdejo whose style and casual label, a work signed by Miguelanxo Prado, broke the mould compared to Rueda's classic.

The grapes comes from different Pozaldez vineyards, located between 700 and 800 m altitude. The vineyards are planted ranging with guyot pruning, with a density of between 1,600 and 2,500 vines/ ha. Yields range between 9,000 and 9,500 kg/ha. The soil is not compact, with a fairly high percentage of stone and limestone. The climate is continental with Atlantic influence. The average annual rainfall is 300-500 mm, with an average of 2,544 hours of sunshine per year. The average temperature is 24.6 ºC during the growth period and from 11 ºC to 27 ºC in the ripening period. The grapes are harvested in September, destemmed and pressed, then a brief maceration at 10 ºC for 12 hours. The must ferments at 18 ºC in stainless steel tanks.

A very versatile white, perfect to accompany appetizers, seafood, sushi, rice and a wide variety of fishes.
