Magma 2020 is the most prestigious yet radical wine from Belgian winemaker Frank Cornelissen, who crafts some of Italy’s most precise minimal-intervention wines on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna (Sicily).
Made exclusively from nerello mascalese vines planted on own roots around 1910 in the Barbabecchi vineyard, which he regards as his most prized Grand Cru, situated at an altitude of 910 meters above sea level.
Produced only in exceptional vintages, when Cornelissen deems the grapes have reached optimal ripeness. Limited to just 2,960 bottles.
