TASTING NOTES (Published in El Club February 2020)
Las Retamas del Regajal 2017 has a beautiful deep and bright ruby colour with garnet reflections. A delicious aroma of violets appears on the nose, accompanied by black fruits such as blackberries and currants. Second, there are balsamic notes and spices such as dried eucalyptus, pepper and cloves, which just complete its seductive perfume. On the palate it has a voluminous and smooth texture, with a network of polished tannins that give it volume, weight and structure, all well balanced by a good freshness. A very long finish with hints of black fruits, spices and a touch of vanilla and toasted caramel. A perfect red to accompany stewed red meats and small game, truffle dishes and cured sheep and goat cheeses. To drink from now or for the next 5 years, between 16 and 18ºC, in the Cabernet / Merlot glass from the Grape series by Riedel (6404/0) or in the New World Syrah glass from the Veritas series by Riedel (449/30 ).

Las Retamas del Regajal is a spontaneous and easy-to-understand wine that preserves, however, the essential characteristics of the winery. Its ageing in French oak barrels manages to respect the fundamental values of the fruit ”, sums up Daniel García-Pita.
