Meridiano Perdido is the project of winemaker Joaquín Gómez Beser, aimed at highlighting a landscape of albariza soils, old palomino vines, and hoe-cultivated viticulture.
Sobremar 2023 is one of his pasture wines made from palomino grapes sourced from vines over 60 years old in the Pago Añina vineyard, located in Jerez de la Frontera.
It is fermented and aged for 11 months in a 50/50 combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks, with a delicate layer of flor yeast to prevent oxidation—though the flor is not the primary focus of the aging process.
This is an excellent white wine that delights from the very first sip. It is very fresh, with citrus notes, stone fruit, and white flowers. On the palate, it is highly flavorful, with a saline and refreshing touch.
Broad and long-lasting, it reveals hints of nuts and quince, finishing with an aftertaste that invites continued enjoyment. Ideal paired with seafood, Iberian ham, and preserved delicacies.
