Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage Le Chevalier de Sterimberg 2021

Le Chevalier de Sterimberg Hermitage from Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the historic and most sought-after white wines from the northern Rhône.

Jaboulet, founded in 1834, is one of the Rhône’s most emblematic wineries, internationally renowned for its Hermitage La Chapelle. The Frey family acquired it in 2006 with the aim of restoring its historical prominence. Caroline Frey led the estates in both Bordeaux and the Rhône until late 2025, when she passed leadership of both projects to her sister Delphine and their father Jean-Jacques. From the 2026 vintage, the winemaking direction will be entrusted to the Italian Chiara Pepe, from the prestigious Emidio Pepe winery.

Le Chevalier de Sterimberg 2021 is made exclusively from Marsanne – unlike previous vintages which also included Roussanne, lost to frost – and was aged for 10 months in egg-shaped concrete vats and demi-muids, on its lees with regular bâtonnage.

A broad, complex, elegant white with great ageing potential.
