Pazo Señorans Albariño 2019

Pazo Señorans Albariño 2019

The Pazo Señorans winery is a reference in Rías Baixas. At the end of the 70s, Marisol Bueno and her husband Javier Mareque discovered a property located in the heart of Val do Salnés, with which they quickly fell in love. They saw the great potential of the Albariño and were encouraged to undertake their own project. Pazo Señorans 2019 is a magnificent Albariño aged in contact with its lees for more than 5 months and 4 more months in the bottle. An intense white, perfumed on the nose, with aromas reminiscent of citrus fruits, white flowers and fruits such as apricots. Delicate on the palate with a silky texture and a finish with notes of fennel and lemon peel. Delicious and complex.

Pazo Señorans Albariño 2019 is made with Albariño from Val do Salnés (Rías Baixas). The harvest, which took place in mid-September, was done manually in small boxes of 18 to 20 kg. The destemming was slow and the skins were left to macerate in the low temperature press, which was followed by an alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature (18ºC) for 15 days in stainless steel. Once finished, it was aged in contact with its lees for more than 5 months also in stainless steel. The wine rested in the bottle for a minimum of 4 more months to finish refining.

TASTING NOTES (Published in El Club December 2020)
Pazo Señorans Albariño 2019
has a beautiful, very limpid straw yellow colur. On the nose it is intense and perfumed, with aromas reminiscent of citrus fruits such as lemon along with notes of flowers and white fruits such as apricot and an elegant final salty and wet stone memory. On the palate it has a delicate entry with a silky texture that fills the entire palate and is followed by a vibrant freshness that invites you to take a second drink. At the end suggestive notes of fresh fennel, green lemon peel and a hint of lemon caramel persist. A delicious and complex white wine perfect to accompany meals based on grilled white fish, seafood, spicy dishes from Asian cuisine or goat cheeses. To be enjoyed from now on and for the next 5 years served, between 8 and 12ºC in the Riesling glass from the Vinum de Riedel series (6416/15) or in the Viognier / Chardonnay from the Veritas de Riedel series (6449/05).

"We look for honest wines that offer on the palate what they promise on the nose " they say from the winery.
