ELABORATION
Planetes de Nin Vi Natural de Garnatxes in Àmfora 2018 is made exclusively with Grenache from the Planetes Estate, located in Porrera. The grapes were harvested on September 19 with a yield of 15 hl per hectare. Although it was a year with mildew and botrytis among other diseases, the winery considers it to have been an exceptional vintage since, as it is a small project, they have been able to work in the vineyard with great precision. The vintage was exceptional, with a low level of rot and phenolic perfection, as well as a great balance between alcohol and acidity. The fermentation was carried out for 4 weeks with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks with a 7-month ageing in 700 and 1000 L. amphorae, without adding sulfur at any time. It was bottled in June 2019 with a production of 6,200 bottles of 75 cl and 200 magnums.

TASTING NOTES (Published in El Club November 2020)
Planetes de Nin Vi Natural de Garnatxes in Àmfora 2018
has a seductive garnet colour, very limpid and bright. On the nose it has loads of red and black fruit at its right point of ripeness, a floral point of violets and red licorice, citrus fruits and light hints of low Mediterranean forest such as rosemary and thyme and a slight woody touch. On the palate it is ethereal and succulent, like a freshly squeezed gooseberry juice, vibrant and pleasant. A silky texture envelops the palate and its impressive freshness invites you to take a second drink. An expressive and delicious wine, the perfect companion for cold cuts, cheese boards, light poultry, rice and mushrooms. To be enjoyed from now on and for the next 5 years, served slightly cool, between 14 and 16ºC, in the Old World Pinot Noir glass from the Veritas series by Riedel (449/07) or the Chianti glass from the Vinum series by Riedel (6416 /fifteen).

Planetes de Nin Vi Natural de Garnatxes in Àmfora 2018 is a wine where fresh Garnacha fruit predominates, without ageing notes with wood because it has never had contact, with a great predominance of minerality notes and to give more complexity and round out the wine: the notes of the amphoras that transport us to the memories of the pitchers to drink fresh water in the sun. Cheers! ”, Defines Carles Ortiz.
