Ripa Rosado 2016
is made with first-bleed must from Garnachas (85%) and Tempranillos (15%) from vines over 30 years old located on the banks of the Najerilla river, in Rioja Alta. It was fermented and subsequently aged for 18 months in used 500-litre French oak bocoyes. The grapes were harvested on October 17th and the vegetative cycle was marked by drought and high summer temperatures, which led to the absence of relevant diseases or pests and an abundant harvest. The wines are characterized by a more moderate alcoholic strength than in the previous year and an excellent balance between alcohol and acidity. While the restoration and refurbishment of the old winery was finishing, the entire process took place in external facilities. 3,200 bottles were bottled in March 2018.

Ripa Rosado 2016 has a nice, bright pale salmon colour. On the nose it is very seductive, with the scent of ripe white fruits such as peach and apricot that combine with delicate aromas of red berry fruits and intense notes of Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary, fennel and dried bay leaf. On the palate it has a fantastic texture that caresses the palate with smoothness and volume that enters like a wave of fresh fruit. It has great freshness and a good balance at the end of the mouth, with delicate notes of lemon peel, thyme and cloves that invite a second sip. A unique and tasty rosé perfect to accompany warm salads, baked white meat and fish with light sauces, rice and goat or cow cheeses. To be enjoyed from now on and for the next 5 years served between 6 and 8ºC in the Viognier / Chardonnay glass from the Veritas series by Riedel (6449/05) or in the Riesling glass from the Vinum series by Riedel (6416/15).
