Schloss Gobelsburg Tradition Heritage Cuvée 10 Years

Schloss Gobelsburg winery, founded in 1137 by Cistercian monks, is one of Austria’s historic landmarks.

Its Tradition Heritage Cuvée 10 Years pays tribute to the tradition of the ancient monks who aged their most special wines for extended periods in large barrels.

This is a very special blend of two varieties—Grüner Veltliner with a subtle touch of Riesling—from the 2011 vintage (90%) and 2010 vintage (10%).

After a brief maceration with the skins, the must fermented in oak barrels, where it was aged for 3 years before bottling and further refinement in the cellar until release.

An intense and complex white wine featuring notes of ripe white fruit and exotic fruits, a hint of lemon zest, and touches of honey.

On the palate, it offers structure, a pleasant glyceric texture, and a long finish with smoky undertones and a spicy aftertaste. Only 3,411 exquisite bottles were produced.
