Suntory Roku (0,2L)

The House of Suntory, founded in 1899, is one of Japan’s most renowned distilleries and a pioneer in incorporating native ingredients into spirit production.

Roku Gin is crafted in Osaka and embodies the philosophy of respecting seasonality and Japanese artisanal precision by selecting six local botanicals—sakura flower and leaf, sencha and gyokuro teas, sanshō pepper, and yuzu peel—alongside eight classic gin botanicals such as juniper, coriander, and citrus, all based on a neutral grain spirit.

The base distillate also includes a fraction fermented from white rice with koji.

The production process is distinguished by the separate distillation of each botanical in four different types of copper pot stills, tailoring the technique to each ingredient’s characteristics to preserve its aromatic profile.

No wood aging or barrel finishing is employed.

The result is a gin with 43% ABV, featuring a crisp and balanced texture where the floral and citrus notes of yuzu and sakura blossom blend seamlessly with the herbal depth of Japanese teas and the spicy touch of sanshō pepper, resting on a classic foundation of juniper and citrus peel.

On the palate, it is smooth and precise, developing progressively into spicy nuances with a clean, persistent finish.

Thanks to its aromatic profile and structure, Roku Gin is best enjoyed neat or over ice in a wide glass and is particularly well-suited for classic cocktails such as the Gin & Tonic or Martini, where the integration of Japanese botanicals adds a unique dimension without compromising the essential balance of the category.
