Terras Gauda La Mar 2017

Terras Gauda La Mar 2017

José María Fonseca is one of the great promoters of Rías Baixas wines. In 1989 he founded Terras Gauda winery –in the O Rosal valley– which very soon became an example. His commitment to Albariño and also to the Caíño variety –traditional in the area– led him to promote fresh white wines with a marked personality and a surprising lay-down capacity. Terras Gauda La Mar 2017 is a coupage of 97% Caíño Blanco and 3% Albariño and Loureiro. Caíño variety, with a long cycle and late maturation, is one of the Galician varieties with the lowest production. On the nose, notes of fleshy fruits emerge accompanied by exotic touches such as kiwi, hay, anise, dried fruit and a delicate dried rose note that appears just before an evocative and fine salty perfume. The palate is wide, voluminous and deep, with an excellent freshness and a finish that repeats a delicate salty touch. A fantastic bottle to enjoy from now and for the next 5 years, accompanying all kinds of fish, seafood, rice, white meat and slightly spicy dishes.
