Venta las Vacas 2018 is the new vintage of the project initiated in 2009 by Juan Carlos Vizcarra and Uvas Felices in Ribera del Duero. 100% Tinta del País from the plots Tras de San Pedro, Las Arras, Valcabero and Los Valles, in Burgos, with an ageing in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. An intense and pleasant wine to enjoy now and the next 5 years. Ideal to accompany rice with meat.

The grapes were destemmed without crushing and it had a premaceration in cold during 5 days at 12 ºC. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in semi-open stainless-steel tanks of 16,000 liters and in new (20%), one-year and two-year old oak barrels at 26 ºC.

It took place on fine lees in 225, 300 and 400 L new, one-year old and two-year old, 40% American oak barrels and 60% French oak barrels, mediumtoasted for 10-12 months, with two rackings.

Beautiful, deep, and garnet in colour. On the nose it is fragrant and concentrated, with black rather than red fruit aromas reminiscent of gooseberry and plum, and intense eucalyptus and fennel which provides freshness combined with sweet spice hints as coconut and vanilla. On the palate it is full bodied with soft tannins and a good freshness that provides the perfect balance. Delicious cherry, black pepper and liquorice aromas persist on the aftertaste.

The perfect wine to pair with grilled or stew red meat, roasted lamb, rice dishes and cow or sheep mature cheese.
