Patrón Tequila Reposado El Alto (Magnum)
Patrón is one of the most renowned tequila houses in Jalisco, located in the El Alto region of Atotonilco, and is known for its commitment to artisanal production and the exclusive use of estate-grown 100% Weber Blue Agave. Patrón Tequila Reposado El Alto (Magnum) is a special edition that stands out for its blend of Extra Añejo tequilas aged up to four years, combined with selected batches of Añejo and Reposado, reflecting the richness of highland agave and the distillery’s expertise. The base is 100% Weber Blue Agave, traditionally crushed with a tahona wheel, which imparts a distinctive texture and a true expression of the agave.
The maturation process is unique: the tequila rests in 11 different types of barrels, predominantly hybrid barrels featuring American oak staves and French oak heads. This complex aging allows for a precise integration of nuances, resulting in a final alcohol content of 40%. On the nose, notes of vanilla, honey, and ripe fruit are perceived, accompanied by subtle hints of toasted oak and sweet spices. On the palate, the entry is smooth and enveloping, evolving to balance the sweetness of cooked agave, the creaminess of the wood, and a spicy background. The finish is long, elegant, and harmonious, with a remarkable integration of alcohol.
It is recommended to serve neat, at room temperature or with a few drops of water to highlight its complexity. It is also ideal for reinterpreting classics like the Old Fashioned, where its structure and nuances are fully expressed.
